Reading
Basal stories are used to emphasize reading skills.  Novels are also used.

Math
Saxson Math teaches addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.  Number writing and identification and working with money are also stressed. Constant review is programed into each lesson.

English
Grammar and the six trait writing method are taught. 

Science
The Third graders will be studying living things in life science.  In Earth science they will focus on the Earth's resources, weather, and space.  Types of matter, as well as forces and energy will be stressed in physical science.

Social Studies
Communities, how they depend on each other and their government is studied. We will also focus on map skills throughout the year.

Spelling
The Treasures Spelling Series is being followed.

Handwriting
The Cursive Handwriting will be learned and practiced.
