This year's case is a criminal case, State of Nebraska vs. Chris Byrd, deals with alleged procurement of alcohol for minors at a graduation party. Later in the evening in question, one of these minors crashes his/her vehicle and is rushed to the hospital with head injuries. Did the parent, in fact, knowingly provide alcohol to minors? What safeguards are necessary to prevent underage drinking? These are only two of the many questions that will be debated in the 2008 Nebraska High School Mock Trial case.
